mini outdoors

We have a large shed out back. For the spring and summer Floppy's cage(a large wooden cage) is inside with a hole to an outside enclosed pen.He is a lop and about 6 pounds. He is closed inside at night forsafety. So far he seems to love it.

I was wondering if a mini rex with their coat being different is suitedto being outdoors or not. I have a young mini rex and was justwondering.

Is it off the fround for Floppys cage?And the Mini Rex can live outside. My friend who has recived Best inShow with her Mini Rex the last two shows in a row outside in cages offthe ground with a tarp on them.
