No worries, he's not obese! He may have some extra chunk on him, like most loved bunnies.But he is just a larger breed of rabbit. His weight is not entirely dependent on his diet, in this case.

I thought that too, but then I looked up the weight. 3 stones = 42 US pounds :shock: (if I remember right, the article said that bunny is 3 stones at 12 months old).
That would make it obese, as the standard mature size is said to be about 26 pounds.
Apparently the owner feeds it all sorts of junk food.

The bunnies are fed up today as it is raining and they like running around the garden.
must get some more pics soon. Cant wait for the summer when i can get some nice sunny ones in the grass xx

Just popping in to say - yes - I have seen the Conti's....yes .. they are awesome looking.

They weren't overly socialized (although the buck did let me pet him).

The breeder is using them with his flemish to bring in better bone density/mass, etc. He is a well respected breeder and I got my first four flemish from him.

I think one of the BEST breeders as far as the larger rabbits goes (if you love light grays that is) - is Juan Perez from Mass. My two girls from him are at Alicia's right now - and I think they're gorgeous.

I am also pleased with what I'm getting from my litters. Now that mine are almost 8 weeks old - I'm seeing their body type better and better - and I'm seeing dad now that he's close to 10 months old and I'm liking him more.

But Juan has a male rabbit that I wish I could steal...and I'm already on a waiting list for something out of him this spring. He simply...ROCKS.
