I've had my rabbit for about a year now and all has been mostly fine between us, hes usually pretty well behaved and an all around good boy.
But lately hes been missing his litter box ALOT, I only ever had this problem when I first got him/ when he was new to my home. I figured the problem was alleviated until about a month or two ago. Now it seems as if I have to clean up a good amount of poo from his area every day. This is definitely more than him flicking stray poos from his litter box when he jumps out.
Is there any explanation to this or possible fix??

Neutering will help, he’s just marking the territory and leaving his droppings to be found :)

Neutering is the only option! My boy is getting nueterd today and I have the same problem with him. My doe was spayed and stopped marking her territory all together. She occasionally has a poop or two lying around my room, but that’s because she is free roam.

We are having the same problems with our bunnies, both are fixed. They used to pretty reliably use the box, but over the last months, there is poop everywhere, in and outside the box. What has happened? Nothing has changed about their cage or diet. I did affix a hay rack over the litter box since they were going through so much hay by it being in their box. I thought having it right overhead would stop the waste and them eating dirty hay. I'm not certain this has caused more problems than it solved. Any suggestions?

Marking the territory. If they use the litter box for urine, that's as good as it gets sometimes. Out of 47 rescues, we only had 2 that used the box for all the needs--why I own a shop vac.
