Kirby went through about 2 weeks of change in appetite. He wasn't eating as much and his poops were stringy withfur. We went to the vet, he really freaked out during the visit, but nothing was found and we thought it was just because he was ingesting too much of his fur from the end of his molt.
But he hasn't been the same ever since. He likes me being around and he still perks up a bit when it's mealtime. But he and I don't seem to have the relationship that we used to. He used to lie down on the ground when I was in the room so I'd pet him. He used to run towards me when I came home from work. Now he doesn't come out of his condo as much (we have a fenced off play area that he can always come out to exercise in). He kind of just hangs out in the condo and eats and sleeps and poops. He was really coming out of his shell before this. Now it seems like we're back to square one when I adopted him in Nov '08.
He freaks out at the slightest sound. When I come into his playpen he freezes for a minute and then first chance he gets, he bolts into the condo. But he is fine when I am outside the pen, petting him from over the fence.
He's a 2 year old Satin. He's wonderfully sweet. Never aggressive, always forgiving. I just don't know what happened to change his personality.
