We adopted Kimchi in March 2017. A friend of ours is a social worker and had to rescue a dwarf bunny, who her daughter dubbed Kimchi, from one of her clients who was unable to care for her.
At the time that our friend was seeking a home for the bunny, my wife and I were about to take a two week vacation to Asia, and had this one picture of the rabbit that our friend had shared with us. We looked at the photo of the bunny many times during our vacation, and got very excited about our new bunny.
When we arrived home from vacation, we went to pick up the bunny from our friend. She told us that during our vacation, she and her husband had fallen in love with the bunny and were keeping her! At that very moment, she surprised us with our little rabbit, who she had gone out and bought for us instead.
So we kept the name - our friend's rabbit is named Kimchi, and so is ours! We love her and have been having a great time learning about rabbits and their habits and desires.
We believe that Kimchi was about 8 weeks old when we got her, so her birthday we think was in late January of 2017.
