I noticed today that Molly's head is tilted alittle to one side, she is eating drinking, pooping and peeing ok but im very worried that it could be head tilt. She has also been sneezing alot but there is no discharge!! If it is head tilt what should I do until I can see the vet tomorow???

If she is drinking eating and pooping OK then you don't have to do anything if you are going to the vet tomorrow. If you have other rabbits it would be a good idea to separate her from the others until you learn what is going on Good Luck!... Just watch her closely also to see if there areother changes.

Are you there?

Yes sometimes sneezing can go with it.

Watch her poops really closely...you may want to take her to the vet pronto.

Have you taken her yet?

You truly might want to get Bunny tested for e.cunniculi when she recovers a bit.

I took Molly to the vet the other day but did not get any answers, her ears are clear and there is no discharge on the nose or eyes. The vet is really frustrating me because she did not want to get a blood test and told me to come backifshe becomes any worse with the head tilt. I know she is not well because she is not behaving normally, she always wants to lie down and has her eyes half shut, im really worried and desperately want a second opinion!! what dyou guys think i should do?????

I've given Ivermectin in mild cases of head tilt and it has often helped immensely. Unfortunately, there are many causes of head tilt, but when a cause cannot be determined, a general course of action can include the following:anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, antibiotic (oral and ear drops).

Excellent info on causes and treatments of head tilt:

thankyou Pam, unfortunately I cannot seek out the advice of another vet because there are no other rabbit savy vets close to my area! I've made arrangements to see my current vet again tomorow and I will demand that she do blood work no matter what the cost!!! I would do anything for my best friend! I will let you all know how things are going, please continue to pray for Molly, I hope she makes it through this.

Blood work looking for EC? It's not that helpful as alot of rabbits carry it without showing symptoms so a positive result doesn't make it the cause of the trouble.

As Pam say's headtilt treatment usually involves both anti-biotics (incase of infection) and anti-parasitics (incase of EC) as it's hard to know which is the issue so better to treat for both.

I took Molly to the vet this afternoon, the vet will not give her anything until she has any discharge or shows any further symptoms.:XIm planning to phone a few other clinics in my area to find out if they deal with rabbits, as far as I know there is only 3 of them that don't, so that leaves me with 2 more clinics to check out.

Some vets can be REALLY frustrating sometimes! I am so sorry you have to deal with them while you are worrying about your bun friend. When my 1 month old baby Lucky had head tilt the vet gave me Baytril and Bene-bac and the results were amazing. The pills were a pain though, Lucky refused to take them at the beginning and then towards the end he almost seemed to like them. He is a strange bunny :D

Here is the link to the thread I created when Lucky got head tilt, there are quite a few usefull links in there :)

I hope everything turns out well, keep us updated!

Discharge? But that's not even a symptom of ear infections or E. cuniculi (most common causes of head tilt)!

Good luck with the other vets! Maybe you should print off some articles on head tilt and bring them with you? There's a lot of good articles here:
