Hi !
I'm new here, I adopted a mini-rex 10 days ago. EBR's Mazerati is 3 months old, he apparently survived a gastro enteritis which killed his sister. His breeder told me he survived on oats for a while. Since he has been sick he got a lot of attention so he seems to be liking human presence a lot. I know it was a gamble but I was willing to take a risk and I adopted him :)

This is my first own rabbit.

From the day he arrived he's been feeding (more than) alright, and will let my kids (ages 6 and 7) pet him while he's feeding from their hands. He's just afraid of my father's voice (my fathers lives in an apt next to our home), hope he'll get used to it. He enjoysplaying outside his cage ! I still give him oats along with his pellets, hay and veggies and he LOVES it.

Here he is :

Welcome to the forums! We had babies pass from enteritis when I first started raising rabbits. It was a very sad ordeal and thankfully only lost one. Your boy is a lucky one I hope he enjoys you for many years.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How to Bond with Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

Wow, its your first time with a bun and you were willing to accept his challenges, thats so sweet. I hope he gets better overtime. Just make sure he eats right and runs a lot, that will help him.

You'll see in time that it was one of the best decisions ever made. They make great pets! :)
