I keep wondering about fur.... and other things

I know I need the breed standard and I am getting it but something they can't quite tell me is this:

1. Heidi's fur seemed almost rough when we got her. As she is shedding she seems softer - VERY soft behind her ears. Is this normal? will she stay softer? or more of the top hair being coarse? Clover did that and then this year - she's about 18 mos - she got really soft and slick but not like Bo of course.

2. Heidi also seems to be getting lighter on her darker parts. Anyone know if this is common with Palominos?

FYI - If she turns out not to be a good show rabbit - we don't care- she's our big goofy rabbit with gigantic poos! so we love her all the same!

It seems to me that they all get rough coats shortly before molt. I don't know why that is, mabye it's because the coat is old, or something.

She's such a character - so different from the others.
