Hi all, I've just posted an into thread, but hello again.

We have two female rabbits that are 6 months old and are not neutered. And one has started (last week) humping the other, there is no fighting and the one being humped just continues eating or whatever she was doing.

My question is, do we need to get them neutered? They still sit together and cuddle etc.

Thanks for any help,
James

Oh my bad I read your question wrong, u should get them neutered it helps them live longer and also helps there health

Ok thanks, we will look into it, will it help the humping or not as well?

Yep, the humping is hormonal and dominance behaviour. Once spayed they will settle down a lot and the humping should stop completely, if you don't spay, your second female may eventually get fed up with it, especially if it increases in frequency which could lead to arguments. Spaying is also important because the cancer rate in un-spayed female rabbits that aren't used for breeding is quite high.

Thanks a lot for the help everyone. I really appreciate it :)

James
