My husband is building me 14 cages tomorrow in our big shed. We are putting boxes in the cages and i need to know how big should we build them?? I dont want them huge just enough to turn around in and stuff.. The rabbits are Dutch's, Mini Rex's and Jesery Woolies....

:thanks: -Misty

Do you mean litter boxes? The standard cat litter box size would probably work. So maybe 10"x12" ? How big are the cages going to be?

Is there a single rabbit per cage? Grab a measuring stick ...

Height: The height of a rabbit sitting upright
Length: The length of a rabbit lying on it's side stretched
Width: See length

To each measurement you want to add a couple of inches for elbow room plus a couple for bedding/litter.

She is asking how big the nesting boxes should be, but they will be using it for the rabbits to get out of the cold, like a hidey house.

Tamsin's answer is still right. Even a hidey box should be big enough to stretch out in. And the nest box needs to be big enough for Mom not to have to step on the babies.

Maybe this is a rabbitry question?
