Good Day everyone, I am new to this forum and have a 2 and a half month old Holland Lop named Sparrow.

I am in the midst of trying to potty train, but know that until she is spayed it may be a long road.

If you have any tips for us, please feel free to throw them my way.

Thanks

Good Morning JjGoesBounce,

At least it is here. We have removed all bedding from the bottom of the cage and are only using it in the litter box, we have cleaned up any pee from the bottom of the cage and put the pee filled paper towel in the box.

The only thing we have troubles with is the poop, but I know it takes time and she is very young.

P.S. I will send pics when I have time to (hopefully tonight)

Thank you

Hi! It is here as well, the sun has yet to rise and shine hope into our eyes. Whats on the bottom of the cage? May I suggest (sorry if I understood or read it wrong) that you put bedding in the litterbox with some of her hay on the side of the litterbox? The poops can be in or out but there is really no way to tell, I resorted to a higher litterbox when Pembrooke was kicking them out with her feet by accident.:)Her litter habits will certainly get better very soon but you are right to start her off young! Looking forward to the pics and PM me with any questions!

Welcome again!

Jj (you can just call me Jj)

Welcome to the forums. I just got my 8mos old french lop neutered and he is still being confined to help his healing process but before then he would also leave bits of poop outside of his box. Not too many but still enough to clean up. Maybe as they get older the random droppings will stop. Good Luck and Yes the library is a great place for advice!

Welcome,

Potty training is fun, isn't it! You think they will never get the hang of it, and then for some reason it clicks. I say by 3 months, it clicked for mine regarding pee.

Yes, hormones are those nasty little devils inside our buns who make them do things they shouldn't. One of my favorite devils is marking territory with pee. Disgusting habit. I don't know about girls, but boy can boys tell you were they have been.

After neutering and a bit of growing up (9 months old), I'm finding no marking from my boys but still have to pick up a few poops.

Hang in there. Everything you are doing is helping her learn. She'll get the hang of it.

K :)
