Hi all, my name is Amanda and I joined the forum back in March I think with my very first rabbit, a holland lop doe named Bunnyta. However, she lived with my boyfriend and they keep their rabbits outside in hutches and unfortunately we encountered a severe cold snap and she died. I still am having a hard time getting over her death, but I'm getting there little by little. To soothe my aching heart, I brought home another ball of fur, this time a mixed breed doe and named her Fiver! Fiver lives INSIDE until winter is over and will come back inside each winter to prevent her death. (however, my boyfriend's lionhead has lived outside for years and is fat and happy, not sure if Bunnyta died because she was young?) Anyways, I have been creeping the threads and found a lot of help so I wanted to make things official and say hi!
The first few pictures are of Bunnyta before she died. The last few are of Fiver and her cuteness c:

I'm sorry for your loss, but congrats on bringing the new bunny inside. Perhaps you will enjoy it so much she can stay all the time. Welcome to RO!

Thank you :) I'm going to college on a scholarship so I have to live in a no-pets allowed dorm, so my babies stay with my boyfriend and his parents and of course we have to abide by their rules. However, they bought a baby flemmie around the same time I acquired Fiver, and both of the bunnies are winning them over and I am praying they decide to keep them in permanently! I still miss Bunnyta severely but Fiver is slowly healing my heart.

It is hard when the space is not yours to do as you like. Luckily bunnies are so cute they can win anyone over with time. I don't think a new animal ever replaces a lost one, but it is good distraction to help with the healing. Luckily I think humans have an unlimited capacity to love if they let themselves. Good luck!

Yes, I agree. I am just counting down until I can get my own place (2 more years) and of course Fiver will come with me and live inside with me :D And I agree, Fiver could never take Bunnyta's spot in my heart, but she is helping me with her adorable antics and keeping me from wallowing in the hurt.
BTW, your lop is *adorable* I love the color of her fur <3

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.
