Hello, everyone 8 weeks ago my female rabbit gave birth to a litter and I had no idea she was even pregnant. I have done my best to ensure the babies and mom are properly cared for but now comes the hard part. Finding the babies good homes. They will be 9 weeks tomorrow so they can now be weaned. I have no clue where to even start. Do shelters take in unwanted litters? Or should I just post them on social media? I am in So. CAL & if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

This is just a suggestion, but if you could try to find a low cost spay and neuter place near you and spay/neuter all the babies before rejoining them. That way no one uses these bunnies as breeders. Females will need to be 4 months so you would have to wait a while, but males can be 8 weeks so you could go ahead and neuter all of them. Sell them for enough to cover the cost of the surgery.
Humane societies often offer low cost surgeries. Here are some low cost clinics possibly near you:

To find homes for them, I would post them on Petfinder.

This is what I honestly wanted to do. The vet I have for my two original rabbits charges $200+ for males and $300+ for females so it would be very costly. I didn’t know you could neuter males that early? My vet told me they had to be a certain amount of weeks and weigh a minimum of 2lbs? I wish I would have known this! I wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with. I worry so much about them going to good homes. Thank you for providing the links I will look into them for sure.

Please try and find homes don't give them to a shelter. Where are you located? Try and post it on Facebook.

I think So. Cal. has some rabbit rescues. They probably won't take your rabbits, but if you contact them, maybe they could give you some advice on how to find good homes for them, and maybe a low cost spay and neuter clinic if you want to go that route.
