oh-my-goodness! I just came in fromchecking on my bunnies....and Hercules *my lil baby, who has loppedears even though his parents have upright ears* HAS A HOLE IN HISEAR!!! Its in his right ear....it looks like a claw mark, like maybe hescratched too hard...but its a HOLE! I know him and Chad got into afight the other day...I was cleaning their cages and Chad decided whatHercules cage was like *they live in a double hutch* and well hair wentflying! I checked them both for scratches or any signs of blood, butdidn't see anything. I'm not sure if Hercules got his ear stuck on awire of his cage when he was laying down...but its a HOLE right throughhis ear..about a half an inch long. I looked around his cage, and underit for any signs of blood, and couldn't find any. I looked on his pawstoo, and didn't see anything. Now that I think of it, I didnt checkChad's paws..... Well should I put neosporn *I cant spell sry* on it??Any peroxide? I don't want it getting infected...but I don't want tohurt him! Thereare no signs of blood around the ear, or onthe cut...or HOLE! But I just want to make sure it doesnt getinfected...has this happened to anyone??

If I don't respond, and this is something I need to know, aim it to me at- BahamaBunny2008 Thanks guys!!!

Putting the antibiotic ointment on it will be fine.

How cool can you get? Thanks Pam. You just made us ALL feel better.

Keep us posted, Amanda.

Poor little punkin. That had to hurt. I'm glad Pam mentioned the antiobiotic ointment and he'll be fine. *Phew!*

Thru the years, I've seen several rabbits who hada ripped ear. Had a few myself, and saw some ofothers. No, these were not "house rabbits". But Inever did do anything with the ear, and the other people didn't,either. The rabbit turned out just fine. That's notto say that it couldn't turn out otherwise, but I haven't heardof great infections or loss of life due to a ripped ear.

Our does Mitzie and Maizie once got into a fight, leaving the latter with two punctures through her ear. Theyhealed nicely, but turned 'black" to match her broken blackcoat. If you didn't know her ears were totally white in thebeginning, you would think the black spot are normal.
