well, stupid me got distracted by the christmass presents and cut my mini rex's toenail waaaaaay tp short, unfortunatley I havent got around to buying any sceptic powder so now im just using a paper towel to temporary stop the bleeding, what should I use or do to stop the bleeding permanatley?

Cornstarch works well.

I wet the end of a q-tip and then dip it in the cornstarch....hold it on the end of the nail and it should stop bleeding.

;)

I believe you can use cornstarch or flour in an emergency.

Or if your bunny with allow you, just keep applying pressure until it stops.

I've heard hydrogen peroxide works well for getting blood out.

I'm glad you got the bleeding stopped.

I use flour for when I cut toenails to far down... Works just as well as Kwik-Stop, Sceptic (sp?) powder, etc.

If there's blood stained fur, I usually use vinegar-water mixture or baby wipes and scrub it and it comes out pretty good.

I did this to Bayou on accident the other day. :tears2:

I just wiped his fur off with a wet paper towel and he took care of the rest.

Sometimes with pressure the blood will stop on its own. I've gotten it to stop on its own by putting pressure on with a q-tip. Flour, cornstarch, or styptic powder will also help. Styptic is great because it has a topical anesthetic as well.
