Hey there! My name is Victoria and I have two bunnies, Fanos and Danai. They are a 3 1/2 year old bonded pair, we think brother and sister (both fixed), that were turned into an animal shelter after they were abandoned on a doorstep. I think because of their experiences with humans during those first 6-9 months of life, they are not very fond of anyone but each other, which we've learned to accept, especially since they seem very happy.

I also have rats and mice, and have learned a lot about taking care of them on online forums, so I thought I would join and benefit from everyone's collective experience.

Hello Victoria, and welcome to the forum :)

I have the same problem with my bun, Solara. She doesn't really like anyone but her bond-mate, Sabriel. It's kinda of upsetting, but it's good to see them happy :)

I used to have rats when I was younger, Holly & Molly, and then a lone-one named Ariana :)

I can't wait to see pictures!

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.

Thanks guys! I posted some diet questions in one of the other forums, but I will be sure to look through more of the forum and post pics of the buns when I have a little more time.

hello and welcome to RO. We had a bonded pair and Lilli was friendly while Molly was a bit shy. We also had Stewart since he was 12 weeks old and was never mistreated--he was a natural born little crab. The other side would be Serena. She was probably 5 months old and just skinny and starving. She is the sweetest bunny in the world and is also a lap bunny--pet her and she'll stay on your lap forever. Given time, any bunny just about will come around even though most don't like to be picked up and held as it's not natural to them.

I've had my buns for almost 3 years now, plus the time I knew them when they belonged to a friend. We tried so hard to socialize them for so long, but they want nothing to do with us. We pet them when we feed them (the only time they don't run away) and give them treats when pick them up to put them back in their pen or after trimming nails or brushing their coats to reward them for spending time with us. But they still don't care for us and if I hold Fanos too long he nips and often breaks skin or puts a new hole in my clothes.

They seem happy the way they are so we've decided to let them be. They're healthy and happy with each other an I can live with that, although I get very jealous of all of the people with cuddly bunnies I see when I go to the vet.
