:) Hi, I'm Amber, and have just got a new pet rabbit just before christmas.
I am a first year Uni student currently studying for a Bachelor of Science, Animal Behaviour (Honours). I'm from South Australia, and am very excited to have my new addition to the family :D So Hi to everyone! :)

(day we got him)

This is Soap :) He got his name from the Modern Warfare character.. boyfriends choice :p

Have been unsure of his breed, but after researching, have found that his description fits best for a French lop ear :) His ears weren't always floppy but, have recently dropped (at first thought something was wrong, but he still seems to be happy, and acting normally).

Soap is still fairly young, but has gotten very fat and large, and is making himself quite at home :). He has adjusted well to living with two cats, and even shows them who is boss sometimes!

He loves cuddling on the floor, and nibbling on your clothes if your not paying him much attention, especially if you're wearing floral prints, haha.

:) We have him litter trained, as he is a house bunny, but he gets a few supervised hours to run around in the backyard, which he absolutely loves :)

Snuggling with me :)

Hi Amber

Welcome to the Forum!

What a sweetie Soap is. Love the pics of both of you with Soap.

BTW, the drooping ears are normal. Lops start out with erect ears or "airplane" ears and drop to what you see today.

Wishing you all the luck with this sweetie. Hope you post about your adventures with Soap.

K :)

Soap doesn't look fat, just the proper curves of most rabbit breeds, but once he's full-grown it's something to watch out for. Though I imagine you were kidding, saying he was very fat.
Welcome to the forum. He seems like a sweetheart.

Welcome to the forum! I also have a French lop named Franklin. They are such sweethearts :) Franklin is 8mos old and weighs 9.8lbs. I hope you enjoy it here

Just took this photo a few minutes ago :) He's starting to form a little mono brow on his forehead, haha :D

Went to the local shops and picked up a few cardboard boxes for Soap to play in, which he is doing right now.

It's been very hot here in Adelaide (ranging from 35- 42 degrees Celsius), so trying to think of ways to keep him cool while were out and the aircon isn't on. Any suggestions?

I would like to welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

I keep my bunny's cool at our county fair with marble tiles. They are not expensive and they are usually 8 inch square. Putthe marble tile in the freezer and put in Soap's cage.My buns will lay on them and keep themselves cool.

Many bunnies’ recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

Here are somelinks I thought you might find interesting:

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How to Bond with Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.
