WOW!
It's been a lil over a year since I was last on RO...
My last bun died:cry2, (he passed about 8-10 months ago) he was a young bun *under 3* but his hard life before here aged him and deteriorated his health so badly. At least while he was here was in bun heaven with his attention, and greens and hay. ^_^

Since that time I have had alot of bunnies here as fosters but they were never here more then a few days, as I have a large list of people that are looking for buns to add to their families... But I had a bunny here not long ago, only for a month and I just loved her to pieces, and I did what ever I could to make her happy as pie! Including a Small NIC cage, (coupled with her GP pal, and normal cage too) and a BIG pen outside for her to play in during the day, and while it was nice outside.
But this bunny made me want some of my own...

Soooo I am planning on bringing in some new family members :biggrin2:, that aren't bonded, so I know I need the cages to be separate...

HOWEVER!!!! hehe I need some help to make sure I don't fudge up since it's been so long.

So naturally I am turning to the extended Rabbit family for help. ;)

Hay for rabbits under a year: Alfalfa or Timothy?
And for Rabbit Over a year: Timothy or Alfalfa
*I used to do Alfalfa for youngin, and Timothy for olders*
My feed store sells both in big bales so doesn't matter much about availablity.

Food Brand... Help? I usually feed Kaytee Brand *but not much of it, and I have used Kaytee for 12 years no problems*

How many boxes of Grids do I need to build a massive multi leveled cage?
I want ideas for a cage for say 5-6 bunnies *no there won't be THAT many in there, but I want them to have tons of space, for just incase, (Like something happens and they can't get out for a day or two, because you know how some times things go haywire or comes up...)*

for 2-3 buns, good idea to have multiple Litter boxes?
Age for spay/Neutering?
Should there be multiple Food dishes and water bottles? *Normally my buns are housed in 2 if they are a bonded set, but they are in temporary cages and stuffs ya know*

Is there a list of Greens that are ok for buns?
My foster buns usually gets LARGE variety of stuff, but I wanted to double check they were ok, and that I wasn't missing anything.

AND where is some good places to get that cloroplast stuff for the bottoms?

ANNNNNNND THE LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS IS:::::
Are you guys prepared to see LOTS AND LOTS of Pictures and updates after I get them?

Hay: I just buy that special packaged rabbit hay for mine, which is Timothy hay, so I would assume it's the same in the big bales.

Food Brand: If Kaytee works the best for you, then stick to it. They have so many varieties.

Cage Grids: No idea there! LOL

Litterboxes: I would have 1 litterbox per rabbit and then maybe an extra 1 or 2, depending on how large their run around area is, they may not need that extra 1.

Spay/Neuter Age: Most say around 6-8 months, but I suggest talking with your rabbit vet.

Multiple Food Dishes/Water Bottles: I would let them have their own food dish and water bottle if they're not sharing a cage. If they are, you could still have two water bottles or buy one big giant one, or get a 2 liter bottle converter kit.

Greens: Celery and Romaine Lettuce and green peppers are what my guys get, but only in moderation.

Cloroplast: Again, NO idea. LOL

Last Important Question: You'll be in lots of troule if you DIDN'T. =D We love bunnies, of course we wants pictures and updates! :) Good luck and hopefully somebody will come along and answer as well.

Well I meant how many food dishes and such if they were together, other wise I'd have a big food dish in each cage, and a big water bottle. :p

With greens mine get multiple types of lettuces, Dandelion Greens, several types of Parsley, and Cilantro, Apples, Pears, Asian Pears, Bean Sprouts, Green Onions, Peppers, Cabbages, the list goes on.

Thank you for your help so far though ^_^

As for the Grid I am thinking of 5x6 for the bottom then doing 2 shelves above that so at least least 6-8 grids high? What does everyone think?

When I did my NIC cage I drew out a picture plan for it...

Are you adopting them from your rescue?

I would just use one food dish for bonded buns.

Well right now I haven't any buns here, and they are usually few and far between.

I am supposed to be getting a Neutered male that the owner is going to PTS should a home not be found, *which he's coming here so a home is found :)* and another person has 3 unsocialized baby buns *approx 2-3mos*, *unknown genders* that needed a home.

Well I am working on a plan now, and hoping it won't look Funky... Because I plan to have a door on it where I can walk into it. Since I also want it so large I know it will take up 90% of my room *all bunnies live in my room, except Play time outside, and free range in the house time*

So you're making a bunny room with a door into the room?

And you can always look on craigslist.

Not really a bunny room with a door to a room.

The cage will be IN my room. but will be large enough that I can walk around an manuver around in the cage. So it'll need a door way that will do that *that's why I hope it won't look funky* **Draws up Sketch**

Oh, you can just put a large food dish in the cage, that's what I did with my two girls!
