Grooming question about castor mini rex.

My Castor mini-rex went to her first show on saturday. She didn't do as well as expected. The judge said her coat was broken and that lost her a lot of points. What exactly is a broken coat? Could it be caused by molting? Because all my bunnies were molting. Is there any way to fix it? How do you groom your mini-rexes?

We use the wet hand method with our Rexes. The rest of the post I have no ideas to share with you.

Usually if they are molting, I wait out the show and just scratch- back when I had mini rexes(I've had many breeds in the past before settling down to dutch and New Zealands) because the points are so high on coat. I've seen people use the grooming blocks like found here:

That seems to work really well on the rex coat. I, personally, use to use a soft bristol brush on mine, and the wet hand 'trick'.
