Is it good to get a rabbit neutered/spayed? Our bunny is 8 months old. We have an appointment to do it soon. We want our bunny to have a long life, and we are also hoping she might settle down just a little, because she is uh..kind of...moody, I guess is the word haha. She has started growling a little, and she has attacked my boyfriend a couple of times when he went to clean her litter hehe. She also likes to put holes in carpets, and shake her caging. Does that type of stuff stop usually when you get them fixed?

Stuff like that will certainly reduce because it is anger and territorialness. It is a good health decision to get them fixed as well.

Do spay, and find a qualified and experienced veterinarian. One who will administer pre-surgery and post-surgery pain meds. Monitor carefully. Hormones are something else.:rollseyes Ask foster mom myheart of hormonal outbursts before her little ones were spayed.

We've seen it with rescue intake Mia, who was aggressive and unruly prior to her surgery at 8 months. When Dr. Follett did the spay, she said she was "ready." Also sanctuary gal Kareena who came from a neglect background had tumors developing by time she was spayed. Good idea always! Prevent uterine cancer, and most females have an 85% risk of developing uterine cancer by age 5.

Oh the aggression and moodiness of hormones. rolling eyes again,
