Cataracts look different. That appears to be a likely infection from a corneal ulcer. It could be from a scratch to the eye from hay or something else. Sometimes it can be an issue with the eyelid rubbing the cornea.

Medirabbit: corneal abrasion and ulcer

Medirabbit: cataracts

I would suggest getting your bun checked by a knowledgeable rabbit vet so the appropriate antibiotic eye drops can be started. That's the minimum that would be needed. I would do this right away, as a continued infection can put the eye at risk of saving.

Usually an eye infection from a corneal ulcer, will be isolated to the one rabbit. But there is always a slight possibility other rabbits could be affected by the bacteria in other ways, if any rabbits have direct contact with the affected rabbit, if the infection is severe, and/or it's a very contagious bacteria like pasteurella.

Getting back to this, after about 2 week of continuously applying antibiotic ointment to his eyes they clears and his vision came back.

I persisted with this option as I had a friends bunny go through the same due to something penetrating the eye by applying antibiotic ointment 4 times a day.

My Vets option was to remove eye which I did want to do, so happy with the final outcome.
