fleas and ticks

I tried going to the health index first, but the link for fleas wasn't working for me. When I was sitting outside with Bunny today, I noticed a tiny, red bug on me. I asked my dad what it was and he said he thought that it was a tick. I quickly brought Bunny inside because I didn't want her to get any of them on her. So now, to be on the safe side, I have decided to get some flea/tick stuff to put on her. What is the best kind to get?

The kitten kind is best to get, but you have to watch brands and I am not sure which at this point. I'll have to look. Little red? Ticks here are brown, but good lookin out!

Due to the possible side effects of insectisides, I wouldn't treat unless needed.

What you saw could have been a red velvet mite. They look like ticks, but do not feed on mammals. http://chicagowildernessmag.org/issues/fall2004/mite.html

The tiny red spider mite is also harmless to mammals.
