Hi all

So this weekend I collected my bundle of fur Tyrion from a wonderful breeder in South London.

He's 8 weeks old and is totally adorable!! He as been treated to prevent coccidiosis and has been wormed but I wasn't sure when I should take him for his first vet check-up.

His nails need clipping and I'm way to nervous to do it myself for the first time, so I also wanted the vent to show me how to do it safely and properly.

So my question is (finally!) when is the best time to take him in for his first vaccinations? I'll also want to get him neutered to but I think I'll wait until he's about 4-5 months for this.

Thanks in advance

I think it's good to take a new pet to the vet within a couple of weeks of getting them to establish them as a patient so they can be seen quickly is there is a problem. You said he needs his nails clipped so that can be done, and you can also talk to the vet about when they would recommend neutering and ask any other questions you have.

Thanks Bville :)

I've done a bit of research on rabbit savvy vets near me and I'll be going to register with one in the next week or so. Cuddles will be a lot less pointy too!

Best thing to do would be to phone the vet and ask when it's best to get the first vacs done. I think I remember it being around 10 weeks old.

Not sure exactly where in London you're located, but here is a really good rabbit vet that may be near your location.

Hi JBun,

Thanks so much. I'm in south east London so I'm going to take him to a recommended place in Blackheath.
