Please excuse the bent wire and general ickiness of the cage (we previously used it to house a very large, very destructive dog); I'm hoping to get to Staples this afternoon to start on his NIC-type cage :biggrin2:. His favorite part is the cardboard box, lol!

Anyway, introducing Rufus T. Bunnington:

Too sleepy to take another step:

And the cage he moved into last night:

I put an old shirt in there for him to snuggle on, which he promptly stretched out and pooped all over. :DAnd definitely going to have to put some shelves in the NIC cage; he loves being on top of that box.

When I got him, there were two signs on the hutch: one that said 'Mini-Rex $12' and one that said 'Netherland Dwarf Mix, Black, $16' and they said he was an ND. Now, he IS black, but he doesn't look anything like the ND's I've seen pics of online. Did they take me for $4? Not that it matters, just curious. He's a pretty good-sizedbunn. Anyway, enjoy! :D

Definitely not a Netherland Dwarf. They should max out at 3# (unless you have a larger-than-normal Nethie). Your bunny has the wrong face for a Nethie, too. They have little round heads and tiny ears. Your rabbit is fabulously cute, though! :D To me, he almost looks like part Flemish Giant with those ears and face! If you want to know what his breed could be, post this in the Rabbitry section. You can post a "what breed is my bunny" thread. :)

Regardless of breed, your bun sure is handsome! :)

That's what I thought, after I googled for pictures. I will definitely post a breed question after I get some better daytime full-body pics. Thanks!

And thanks for the compliments, I'll tell him all about it when I get home :D

Yes, definitely not Netherland Dwarf, nor Mini Rex. He does have flemish giant type ears, but he's probably a mix of some sort.
Just one of those adorable mutt bunnies :D

I love the pic where he falls down in the doorway, so cute :)

To be honest, he looks more like a flemish giant in the nose and face, or a new zealand. Will be curious to see what the breeders think your "Netherland Dwarf" is. He looks like he's gonna be a big boy.

I want to snorgle that little nose!

He's a cutie, love the sleepy picture of him. :)

Yeah, I was thinking Flemmie too. It's ridiculous how people try to pass of any rabbit as a Netherland Dwarf because people want little rabbits. I suppose he could be some tiny part Netherland Dwarf but ehhhh. One thing is for sure, though: Your boy is CUTE! I love the first picture. How old is he? Also, in the picture of his whole cage, I was wondering what all those little things on the shirt were. I thought they looked like dog kibble. Can't believe I didn't think of bunny turds :embarrassed:

He look like a black New Zealand! Adorable!

Here is a pic of a Black New Zealand

Aly!:)

Thanks, everyone!
You're right; he does look like the New Zealand and the Flemish Giant. I was back in RK today and asked them if they knew where he came from or what age he might be, but of course they didn't have a clue. Oh well. :)

Also went to Staples today to buy cage stuff; surprise, they didn't have any idea what I was talking about. Guess I'll have to order online.

I did get a litter pan yesterday; shook some poops into it and put some hay in the corner, and he seemed to get the idea right away. Maybe he's done this before, lol.

Thanks again!

You can usually find them at Target. I can't decide if he's a Flemmie or a NZ--his face seems a bit too broad for a NZ. However, this bunny is gonna be BIG, whichever he is! Definitely not a 2.5lb nethie--more like a 14lb NZ or 15+lb flemmie!

Bunn took his first trip outside this weekend! I de-constructed another dog crate and used some chicken wire on the grids with larger holes, then placed it up against the horse fence while the horses were locked out. Still didn't get to see more than the tiniest binky but I think he was happy regardless. :)

I put his favorite box in there so he could hide if he wanted:

He looks so much more grey in the natural light...

A little binky is still a happy binky! :D Cute outdoor pictures! Bunn has the prettiest eyes!

I like how you have the same "format" for your rabbit's name that I do. I always thought that I named my Toby weird! (His "full" name is Tobias L. Bunny (L stands for Leonard) lol.)

Bunn has presence. I do love that "sleepy" photo of him though.

Enjoy life wih Bunn and tell us about it as often as you like :). Flemmie's are a fave breed of some members here, so if you need any specialised breed advice, just ask.

Jo xx
