Hello,
This morning I found my 5 year old spayed female rabbit with hay in her mouth like that... I went up to her stroked her and she seemed fine. I left her then came back again and she still had the hay in her mouth, not doing anything with it. Just sat there day dreaming... I took the hay off her mouth and quickly looked inside her mouth if everything was alright there. Everything seemed fine and she was eating and drinking normally after this. First time Ive noticed her doing something like this, she was spayed when she was 1 so Im really unsure what on earth is going through her head. I read some posts that it could be nesting instinct... But since we spayed her she never made any nests. She jumps about, digs digs digs in the garden, plays nicely and loves to be fussed about when shes at home. Can anyone suggest what on earth was this all about?
