One of my clients has a rabbit that is a year old. a week or so ago its eyes went purple as if it had purple contact lenses in!! No cloudiness in eye. No running or discharge rabbit is happy eating playing etc. does anyone have any ideas what is making his eyes have a purple tinge?

He has had eye drops from the vets and sometimes his eyes look normal and other times they look purple again. Drops do not seem to be getting rid of it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry that no one answered this sooner

The vet must be attempting to treat the rabbit for something if drops were prescribed. :?

I don't know a lot about eyes but I do know my rabbit Sheba developed sudden onset glaucoma and her eyes very suddenly turned bluish and eventually became bluish cloudy

Possible this rabbit should be seen by an animal opthalmologist
i'll try o find some articles from the library

cataracts can also cause color change in the eye
