Dutch Weight

Is 5 1/2lbs overweight for a dutch adult? I find some sites that say 3-5 and some to 5 1/2lbs.

one way to find out for sure/one simple test,/.can he clean his own bottom??.if yes than he is not overweight,,sincerely james waller

Great thanks so much, yes he can clean his bottom and he's constantly active

Yep that weight's fine! Lucy's 4.6lbs and she's just over a year old.

The ideal breed weight is not necessarily a good indicator of proper weight for an individual. An assessment by an experienced individual can help to determine if your rabbit is overweight. Although obese rabbits may have a difficult time "reaching their bottoms", this is not an accurate indicator of whether or not a rabbit is overweight.
