How often do i have to change my rabbits water?

Or whenever it's feeling empty on that day. I change my bunny's water 2 every day (she drinks a lot)

At least once a day, if not more frequently. Mine have both a water bottle for back up and a dish (a regular stainless steel dog dish). They seem to prefer the dish, and it's a lot less hassle for me to change it, so sometimes they get fresh water a few times a day rather than just once a day. Then again, sometimes Simon does goofy things like put his front paws in the water dish. I have no idea why he does this, but he doesn't seem to mind. Silly rabbit.

Why do rabbits need their water changed every day

bacteria can and will grow in the water. look at it this way. would you drink a glass of water that has been sitting out all day or even for days?

Not only should you change the water every day, but you should wash the bowl regularly. I'd say at least once a week.
