Does anyone have spay info?

Okay i've got the money to get Pepe spayed its sitting right next to me. But when a phoned round the vets one said that they can bleed quite excessivly (sp) But i still feel I should get it done after Rosy (she had uterine cancer) but then again i dont want Peps to die in there. So can anyone tell me the pros and cons of spaying and any other questions they think I need to know?

Hard to say in NZ, maybe someone will hop alongP) that has some info on procedures done in NZ. I know we have a couple members here from there.

I don't think there is excessive bleeding though, not normally. The incisions these days are quite small, about an inch or so.
