Ok my female lion head has had a bad habit of digging in the corners of her cage. She is only in there at night it's a decent size but that's all I hear at night and I need to figure out a way to make her stop! She has plenty of toys, but she doesn't use them. She has plenty of hay and other goodies but doesn't eat them. Also I'm trying to litter box train her. She does ok but often I wake up to her throwing the litter box around and peeing right where I put it to begin with. If none of that gets my attention she will chew on the wire bars. Like I said she is only in there while I'm sleeping she gets plenty of attention when I'm home and then when I'm not she is outside in her huge huge hutch. My other bunnies doesn't do any of this. Any advise!?!?!?

Sadly I can't my mom doesn't want her anywhere else besides my room because she makes a huge mess and flings bedding everywhere! :( she isn't spayed could that be the reason?

She sounds like my Luna. Head strong! Digging in corners, biting the bars when SHE wants out. And she's intact and will stay that way. I think spaying your girl will definitely help, but all age does it too. Babies do get rowdy and have so much energy. Once they hit adulthood, they seem to calm down.

Sorry about the lack of sleep. I hear Luna in the other room once in a while at night. She thumps at things she doesn't like. Like hearing Jake's dog tags rattle when he scratches or drinks. She hates the clanging noise and lets everyone know it. If someone gets up in the middle of night to go the bathroom, Luna thumps. How dare we disturb her rest or eating. lol

K:)

It could well be hormones if the behavior started at 5 months or so. But can she really make a mess from inside her cage? If so, putting the cage onto a tarp should contain it.

Well i read some other post's and someone suggested letting the bunny dig somewhere else.. I was like hmmm ill have to give this a wurl! So i went out and purchased a bucket full of organic top soil... placed it in the xpen.. and what does she do... sits on top of the pile and sunbathes... She is lucky she is so darn cute!!!:p :p :p

Hi
I have lovely bunnies and the girls want out of their cages to roam and run. Can you set a run in the garden that your bunnies can have some time out of there cage and explore the world as I have a garden run for my bunnies and they love the freedom.
My girls want to get to the boys and have fun so I have 2 runs next to each other so they can socialise. they need this as it is in their nature. digging is a part of who they are.
:D
