Death in the rabbitry..

I just had to put a great doe down and she just turned a year old. I think she had bunny flop syndrome. I did everything that i could do to save this rabbit but nothing would work. I gave her meds. 3 times a day and had to give her water in a syringe just to keep her alive. But it was not fair to her to keep her miserable. I guess its one of those things that you just got to let go and do what is right.

What is bunny flop syndrome? I've never heard of that before...is it code name for some disease?

Ahhh. There is another name for that - I had to look it up, but it's called Nosema. I recognized the parasite that is in that information, and looked it up in my rabbitry binder. That might be more familiar by name than bunny flop syndrome.

Flop Bunny Syndrome is just a general term for a group of symptoms with an undetermined cause. It's not a term we use here in the US.
