Colour Question: Where is Pam....?

"Rabbits fall under what biological order?" Is that like scientific classification? All i found for that was Lagomorph, and I know there's more to it than that. I couldn't find any thing in my rabbit book, so I looked on google and that's where I found Lagomorph.

Yes, rabbits are in the Order Lagomorpha. The easy way to remember the classification system is to remember "King Phillip Came Over For Good Soup" - Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. So, our bunnies are classified as follows:

Kingdom: Animals
Phylum: Chordata (animals with spinal chords)
Class: Mammals
Order: Lagomorphs
Family: Leporidae (Rabbits, Cottontails and Hares)
Genus: Oryctolagus
Species: Cunicula

Generally, in 4-H they are looking for the answer "lagomorph", but some competitive areas do get more technical.
