Black and white lop eared female adopted from no-kill shelter, given the name Clover.
(This is our first rabbit who we rescued from a no-kill shelter who had no luck finding her a forever-home since they only have cats and dogs--no one came to them looking for rabbits. A friend took my fiance and I there, and I fell in love with her instantly. We visited a few more times, and she was always there. We decided we wanted to get her, eventually. Lucky for us, the day we went down to fill out an application for her was her last day there. They were planning to transfer her to another shelter (which they did not clarify as a no-kill). They never really do walk-in adoptions, but after talking with them for a while and calling our vets about our cats, and our two listed recommendations they decided it would be best if Clover come home with us that day. She is very adjusted to cats, so that's amazing. Out cats love her.)
*Edit as of May 2014.
Clover has become a lot more social, and has become healthier over the months. She allows me to clip her nails, clean her glands, check her teeth, etc. with little to no hassle. She also likes to spend time with me on the couch and bed. Still working on fixing her diet. Droppings are improving, though.
I would say Clover is a sweet, bashful girl... But tough when she needs to be. She is a cuddler, on her terms. She prefers to sit next to you and be pet over being held any day, but still humors my need for cuddling on occasion. I will never understand how she ended up in the shelter. She is such a sweet girl, and her piggy-like breathing is quite charming.
