Can anyone recommend a source for dried plantain and/or unsweetened dried papaya?

I believe what you say about the ingredients listed on SMF's product, but the dark, even color of the papaya suggests that it, too, is treated with sulfur dioxide. Untreated--i.e., unsulfurated--papaya has natural coloration, which ranges from whitish/clear to a light melon-ish shade. Many pieces contain both the whitish and melon-ish color, so they appear striated. Unsulfurated papaya isn't dark colored like all the products everyone's shown thus far; so I'm leaning toward the belief that they're all sulfurated, but maybe manufacturer's don't have to admit to it.

I'm curious: how long do you keep the 5-lb. bag of dried papaya in the freezer? That is, how long do you feed it to your buns once you open it?
