Does anyone know if there is a major differencein what rabbit testicles look like before and after being neutered? Thereason I ask is because I suspect my male rabbit IS neutered, but I'mnot sure. It's one of this iffy things and I can't be sure...

I suppose it sounds kind of gross, but perhaps someone has pictures to compare? Neutered testicles and not? :p

Thanks ahead of time,
~Teri

i'm not really sure generally but before Russelwas neutered, they were particularly obvious but now they arestill there but much less obvious under the fur. Sorry i have no picsthough,
Leanne :)

If they look like full pink waterballons then he is most likely not nuetered. After nuetering they are deflated :p

Keep in mind that bucks can pull those suckers into their body cavity

I always thought when they fix a boy animal theyremove the testicles. Isnt that supose to reduce thier riskof cancer.. This is off the topic of bunnies but my new dog was suposeto be fixed but he still has testicles and the old owner said he isfixed but she asked them not to remove them. Anyone heard ofsuch a thing. She gave me the vet's office but I haventgotten around to calling yet.

My boys' weren're moved...the lil sac is stillthere...but really can't see it on either of em...just inards wereremoved I guess you'd say...

Mine (well not mine, my rabbits) are like littleempty sacks now on both sides since he (Cocoa) had his castration(neuter, etc.)

So, you might be able to tell, but as one said above, the testies candisappear into the body at times, so it is worth checking again if youdon't find any testies the first time you look.

even wierder.....they make implants to put in the sac afterneutering to give the appearance of being unaltered......crazystuff

Butterscotch is neutered and my vet took off the testicles completely... so I guess everyone does it differently.

They should be removed if nuetered. Ifnot, it does not make any different on eliminating the cancer risksince the blood still flows through them and that is how the cancerwould spread. His sacks will still be there but will beempty. You can probably tell by sitting him on your lap andfeeling back there. You could tell on both mybucks. If they didn't take them out the probably tied off thecords but that doesn't seem likely.
