I am so sorry for the delayed update, just got

to my puter.. he is eating thank God

but i am so incredibly worried about his poops

they are really really microscopic and hard- misshaped

weird shapes... i bought some baby gas med

and childrens aspirin= is childrens aspirin ok to give him?

he is just so balled up right now and all he wants is pets

on the forehead... i know when i am sick all i want is pets

on the forehead- he was playing a little this afternoon

but he has just been balled up bunny meatloaf for hours

do you think he is in pain? when i pet him i hear a little grinding of his

teeth?- i am such a worried bunny mom- i wish his poops were bigger

and he was more active. but i've only had him for 2 weeks

so i don't know what to compare it to?- my bunny expert friend is coming

over tomorrow to view him and his poops she said she will bring some

of her emergency meds... i am not a big fan of my vet rite now- so

i made an appt. with a different vet from the recommended list- dr. doolen

for may 10 - everyone is so booked up!!!- sorry for such a long rant

i am so grateful that you care- it gets me all emotional=- thank you

for your love and compassion!!!!- i 'll keep you posted.....:ponder:

I'm really concerned that your rabbit is in pain. I really would get him into the vet immediately and not wait two weeks. Call again and tell them that he really can't wait to be seen. Even the emergency vet would be better. I know you don't like them but your rabbit is in distress.

oops i should have checked this site yesterday
i kept y'all in the dark - my bun expert friend
came over to check Petey and he was fine
he did a bunny flop and was eating normally
playing and being silly...we gave him critical care
just in case but he was chomping on carrot tops and
romaine all day (+ some of his favorite pellets
but i try to limit those)- his poops are getting a little
bigger but still very hard and dry.... thank you so
much for your great suggestions and you are
right i should have taken him to the vet but
my friend that came over is sort of a life trained bunny
lover for 15 years and has had over 20 rabbits in her
care so between her and calling back and forth to
the real bun expert rescue that i got Petey from
(she has had hundreds of rabbits over the years)
they both gave Petey a clean bill of health.... but
i promise to keep monitoring him and let you gals
know the progress. ... i appreciate you all so much
thank you for keeping up on this with me.... i mean
i am still concerned about his poops!:?:?

soo sorry for late update!- yeppers we are all better
we have normal hard poops - some of them are still a little small
but i am getting used to a little fluctuation depending on the
treats like carrots and papaya tabs that i give him i may have
to cut out.... it is starting to look like these things irritate his system-
i'm keeping my eye out- but overall he is much better- thank you all
so much - i suppose we could mark this resolved?- how do i do that? :D:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I can do that for you. You need a Mod to do it.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad he's doing better. He does sound like a sensitive bun, so it's a good idea to cut out sugary stuff like carrots or papaya tabs. If you want to give something for a treat, try pieces of hay cubes. Or herbs or veggies, if they're introduced slowly and don't upset his stomach. Some rabbits handle veggies well but not sugars.

I just came across your thread and its always helpful to me to read up on others buns that are having issues (as I'm a newbie too); and secondly, and so glad that Petey is doing better..
