What is it?
http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/rabbit-proofing.html

What does rabbit proofing involve?
Rabbit Proofing one's home involves three things: 1) Preventing destruction of your property; 2) Protecting your companion rabbit(s) from harm; and. 3) Providing safe and fun chewing alternatives for your rabbit.

Why is rabbit proofing your home so important?
Preventing rabbits from chewing on electrical cords is of utmost importance, since rabbits can be badly burned or electrocuted. The consequences of biting into an electric wire are too severe to risk relying on training alone. Instead, you must take action to move the cords safely out of reach. Some ways of doing this follow.

Moderator notes- Cloth and carpet fibers are difficult to push through the digestive system and can cause intestinal blockages. Unlike hairballs, blockages caused by these fibers usually need surgery, which is very dangerous. Please do not let your rabbit chew on cloth or carpet!

Block off any open water to prevent your rabbit from accidentally drowning. Keep the toilet lid down and block off any pools, sump pump pits, etc.

Also be careful when cooking or handling hot food/drink, or with fireplaces and heaters.

Ive noticed lots of people have questions on how to bunny-proof areas where wires are exposed.

The best thing to do is move those wires out of bunny's each. Ive usedtape, but little hooks usually work best to keep the wires up.

For wires that must be exposed, this is a great tool:

Its called split wire loom, and is available at most auto and hardwarestores. It has a split running down the side that allows you to pushthe wire through. Its available in different lengths and sizes and isvery cheap.

This may be a silly question but is it durable for a bunny to bite, sit on (babii likes to sit on things) and if she stis on it and its not durable it may break and or the wire will fall out?
