I don't know how they compile the list or if they check the breeders out before adding them to the list. Anyone know if this is a valuable resource or not for those looking for an alternative to a pet store rabbit?

I don't think many breeder lists check the listings in any way. The best check is to talk to the breeder and visit the rabbitry. But even if it only gives you names and contact info, it's still helpful.

Anyone can submit their names to the list. It's often a good idea to ask around for references or as already mentioned visit the rabbitry.

There are many reputable rabbits breeders who do not allow visitors for security reasons.

I like both the lists mentioned - but then again - I'm on both of them!

I think its important to remember that many many times when you see a breeder's list - no one has checked it out....it is just a resource for folks to find breeders.

Each person has to do their own checking out of the people they see on the list that they might want to consider getting a rabbit from....because it would take WAY WAY too much time for a website owner to check them all out.
