Georgie is molting REALLY badly right now. I keep brushing and brushing him, and it's doing absolutely nothing. When Stewart (my dog) starts shedding really badly, a bath always helps. Can you bathe a rabbit? If I bathe him in warm water and blow-dry him afterwards, would it be okay? Can I use shampoo or anything? Or should I just rinse and dry?

I'm totally clueless in this area, so any advice would be great!!

You are not suppose to bathe bunnies at all unless they have something all over them. It can put them into shock and is very very stressful.

Bathing isn't really good

Try wetting your hands a bit and rubbing him to get loose fur.

Not too wet but enough to grab the fur.

Thanks for the quick replies!! I'll try the wet hands thing...maybe that'll help. He already molted once a few months ago, but it's worse this time. Thanks again!

What kind of a brush are you using? Zoom Groom works great (rubber brush), and the Furminator is fabulous on some buns. Wet hands work really well too but those brushes get a lot of the loose undercoat out.

And yeah, ixnay on the athbay.
