I bought 3 bunnies a few weeks ago, but last Sunday, one of them when berserk, running at high speed, screaming and then became semi unconscience. This happened 3 time that Sunday. I thought she had been attacked by 1 of the other rabbits, so I removed her from the rest of them, and how lived with me. 5 days later, today, I was doing something when she when berserk again It was horrific. She seemed to be running frighted from something, screaming and then fainted. She was visibly shaken for about 20 minutes than seemed better.

I was wondering if she had some sort of disease that I have not heard of.

Is there anything that can be done for her?

I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Could they be seizures? The vet, who's not a specialist, gave 4 of my rabbits something to kill the ear mites that thet had.

Could it be that which is causing the seizures?

What medication did the vet give for the ear mites and what was the dosage? How old is your bunny?

I know not the treatment nor the dosage. The rabbit is about 3-4 months old. The vet, who's not a specialist in rabbits, did say that there were 2 options. One to inject and the other ear drops. He used the ear drops because they had the Myx vaccination that same day.

If it is the ear mite medication, are the seizure temporary?

Relaxing after a seizure. She went ballistic, screaming, running in fear of her life, then fainted.

Hmmm she doesnt look to have any vienna markings. Are all the rabbits litter mates?
Still interested in knowing what medication was used. There are some that are still bad for rabbits.
I haven't bred rabbits since I was a wee child. All the rabbits are spayed or neutered, well, except for the odd one.

All my rabbits are either saved from the dinner table or bought at the open market.

Okay, no. But the 4 that were treated came from the same farm, so it is highly probable.

If ivermectin was the med used and this rabbit had hidden vienna genes it could explain some of the seizure like activity.
If another drug was used there are some pretty toxic meds out there used on say dogs that could kill a cat.
Finding out the drug used may help here

I'd recommend taking a video of the next episode and then seeing your veterinarian.
Can you narrow down if something is triggering the episodes? A noise? Another animal perhaps? I've never heard of an animal making noise while seizing but that doesn't mean it's not what's happening.

I've just spoken to the Vet, and he has told me it was ivermectin. I'm gonna see him know, so I'll ask what dosage he used.

Could this be what has been causing the seizures, and if so, is it permanent?
