Dandy is expecting her second litter here in the next couple of days.We arevery excited, and hopeing that all goes well with the delivery. In her first litter she only had one kit, which was still born. (fully developed and looking normal, but didn't survive....) anyway, we are all looking forward to the new additions into our house and keeping our fingers crossed for her. I will post pics as soon as the babesarrive.:D

Update....

She emptied out her hay bin the other night and hauled it all into the nest box, and now this morning, sometime between 6:15am and about 9:45am she has pulled out some fur... So far no babes though. So I am just wondering, do you think she will wait until tonight to kindle, or is there a chance that she could kindle during the day? I am just assuming that she will deliver very shortly, since last time she pulled the fur in the evening and then delivered that night. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Also, maybe just me, but it doesnt look as though she has pulled enough fur. I do have some extra in a bag, but from all of the nest pics that I have seen on here, it appears that she should have more, unless of course she will do it right before she has them. From what I can remember she did have more fur the first time.

Sorry for the rambling, I am just anxiously awaiting new babies!!!!!

With Wildfire, she kindled with in 2 hours of pulling fur. So I would expect babies at any time now. She may wait till night time or she may do it now.

Also, Wildfire pulled more fur after the birth of her babies, and then pulled even more throughout the night. So give your bun the chance to cover up the babies after birth before sticking some more in. And depending on how many babies there are, she may not need to pull as much fur if there are lots of babies to keep each other warm.

Let us know when the babies get here!

BABIES ARE HERE!!!!!!!!

5 so far....but 2 of them were still born:(, I am hoping that she is done since I have to leave for work now. The last one was born out side of the nest, but I scooped it up right away and put it in with the others, and removed the 2 that did not make it. I will take some pics and post as soon as I can.

Pictures!!!!!!!! Sorry they aren't the best or very close, I will try to get some nicer ones today....

All bundled in the nest...

It was very exciting to be able to be near her while she was delivering!!!!

Very well, thank you. They have already changed so much!!!! Baby 2 who I thought was looking more pink, and would be white, is now a silvery color, so I am thinking black/silver like Dad. They are very active and start worming around as soon as I touch the nest. I will post more pics as soon as I can.
