Babies at almost 3 weeks

They're really growing. Well, except the runt, who's still really tiny. Cute, but tiny.

This Adeline's "question mark" of the litter. I thought it was a smoke pearl, but wasn't sure (and had some people with some suggestions that ranged from a chin to a shagouti--no idea what that is!). Anyway, he/she is definitely a smoke pearl. And absolutely the biggest sweetheart of the litter!

These are 2 of the 6 opals.

And here is Twila's runt, with its half sibling. Notice the eye color? Where the heck did the blue eyes come from???

And this is Booberry, now 3 1/2 months old. And weighing in at 8.4 lbs already!

Thanks, Bonnie. I'm not an expert, but I think he/she will always be really small. With the blue eyes, it's definitely a pet, not a show prospect. Still not sure where the blue eyes came from. LOL

Are blue eyes not allowed in shows?
How do you know their colours lol that sounds strange but I mean do you have a chart to look at to differ one colour from another?

Also last question Are you keeping the runt?!

It depends on the breed of rabbit as to what color eyes go with what color body. A Californian can only be white body, with black points (ears, nose, feet, top of tail), with ruby eyes.

For the French Lop colors, there are a LOT of them! I've basically learned by some sites online, help of other breeders, and by picking brains on here.

As for the runt, I'm hoping my mom will take him. If not, he'll only go to a family or VERY close friend. Otherwise, it'll stay here.

Assuming rabbit shows are like dog shows it has to be a example of breed standards. Blue eyes does not fit the breed standards. It sure is cute though

they're so cute!! One of our youngest rabbits also is white with blue eyes. All the other rabbits have black looking eyes. Not sure where her blue eyes came from.

What breed are the babies? It sounds like you got a BEW, which I find absolutely beautiful! But with a Californian, they can only be ruby. Now I have to post on the genetic forums and find out what caused the blue eyes on the Cal baby. All of the rest have red eyes.
