My two buns are just over 4 months old and I was just wondering when they'd be done growing. Their current weights are Dottie at 5lbs 8oz and Basil at 5 lbs 3oz. Their breed is unknown.
Dwarf breeds are actually full grown around 6 months, whereas larger breeds tend to take to around 8 months. Most breeds are fully grown by or before a year old, other than continuing to fill out their head, bone, etc. Especially the large breeds that are more commonly used as market rabbits, they mature extremely fast...that's what they're bred for!Larger breeds mature more slowly and smaller breeds more quickly. A dwarf may reach full weight at 8 months, whereas a flemish may take 1.5 yrs.
Thanks He is a pretty shiny guy.Just wanted to say, Basil is has a very shiny coat! Pretty
