If they're what they say they are, yes. If they're actually treated [to burn easily in a fireplace for example], then no. The seller may or may not be the original owner & not know.
 
What if I got pine cones off of my tree outside? How would I treat them? Are there pine cones from certain types of pine trees that may be toxic?

My rabbit loves pine cones! I collect them from our yard and let them sit on the porch in the sun until they're totally dried out. You can also do this in a low oven (google drying pine cones in oven and you'll find directions). Then I give them to him, no other treatment needed! =)
 
Yeah, I would prefer to collect them and dry them myself rather than buy them and trust someone else to have done the work properly really.:)
