Are mini lops and german lops the same breed?

I was looking at a website about german lops and it said that german lops and mini lops are the same breed just some people prefer to call them different names.. is this true?

I think they are different.

I just did a quick google and found that people were selling German Lops & Mini Lops from the same rabbitry.. so it lead me to believe they are 2 different breeds.

This helps to clarify. There seems to be a size difference and German lops are only recognised in EU, not US.
