Alfalfa hay with insects. how can I remove the insects? What should I do?

In the psat, if it was just a few, we'd just remove them. If it's loaded, I'd return it and look for another source. Since you only need to feed it to growing babies or thinning elder Buns we never kept that much on hand to begin with.

Try to identify the bugs. If they are blister beetles do not feed any of that hay to your rabbits. Hay that has come into contact with blister beetles can cause death. If you cannot successfully identify the bugs then throw the hay out.

I was so mad when I bought a bag of hay from kaytee, it has bugs and sticks. So I called the company and they sent me a boat load of coupons. Call the company first with he UPC number and throw it out after.

I think most of the hay I buy is infested with fruit flies. I've been storing it in the freezer until I need it.
That seems to take care of the fruit flies.
I only buy Oxbow hay.
