So Truffle has started to breathe loudly and sometimes its wheezy. I dont know whether this can be a deliberate sound they make as she is also getting her hormones and I've had to separate her from her sister because she has been biting her.

Ive noticed it all day. It may have been going on for longer though because for 2 weeks I've only been popping in to see them and my mum has been looking after them for me (I was in hospital for my mental health)

I would not be super worried then. Make sure she has plenty of hay and water and she should be fine. I am still going to call @JBun to this thread just to be safe though.

Also, it is a good idea for you to check if your other bunny if wheezing is happening with her. if so it could be genetic. Good luck though!

Rabbits can sometimes be born with airway abnormalities that cause louder than normal breathing sounds. I have one bun that snores when she sleeps and another that has very loud breathing when she gets upset. They've always been this way and they are both 8 yrs old now.

But if this is something new with your rabbit and she hasn't always sounded like this, it would be advisable to have her checked by an experienced rabbit vet right away. Wheezing can be an indication there is a respiratory problem like something stuck in the airway or even a sign of pneumonia (which needs immediate antibiotic treatment ).
