I think the bald patch was due to shedding, unrelated, as if they were the usual dandruff mites there'd be flaking and stuff. Try and pick one up and observe closely if they move. I will be going to a new vet to have him under a microscope to confirm and then go from there

flea comb is useless because the bugs pass through the wires unfortunately. My guess after hours of googling has been hay mites/static mites. This spray do I spray it all over his coat? I will be looking into finding a new vet the current one hasn't been helpful at all so far.
