Moving to a New City | Need Advice/Flying with Rabbits

Wow, thank you so much for your insight! I was scared of the elevation as well so it’s good know someone agrees. As for the ride, we have it mapped out for our cars and it’s about 3 stops, but on our last drive we were doing about 1 every hour to check on the buns (they were next to me in my...

Moving to a New City | Need Advice/Flying with Rabbits

My boyfriend and I are looking to move to Monterey from San Diego this coming fall, but I have hesitation due to our two rabbits becoming ill from the long drive. In the past one of our rabbits has gotten GI stasis after we travelled with him to Monterey. He gets stressed easily so I want to...

GI Stasis | Rabbit Hospitalized :(

Thank you!!!! He’s recovering slowly but surely. He’s so so sensitive so I believe that’s what caused this as he has unlimited hay and a scheduled dinner of greens w/ very little pellets but I have faith he’s strong. ❤️❤️❤️

GI Stasis | Rabbit Hospitalized :(

I just brought him home today, he’s starting to produce fecal, but he’s to take reglan (3 times daily) for 3-5 days & antibiotic (2 times daily) for 7 days. Also 3 syringes of baby food daily (got carrot & sweet potato). They were all very kind and seemed educated on rabbits. (:

GI Stasis | Rabbit Hospitalized :(

Hello all, My precious boy (9 month old) has been hospitalized Monday, Tuesday, and today is Wednesday because he refuses to eat, won’t pass any stool, won’t drink water, & is in lots of pain. The doctor diagnosed him with GI stasis, but I’m starting to worry about how long it’s taken him to...

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! I have no idea what their past is so I guess I just need to work around it & train them to trust me more. (:

Rabbit Handling - They HATE it

Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely check out the video. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who’s struggling with them. Maybe I just need more time to figure out what they’re comfortable with! (:

Rabbit Handling - They HATE it

I rescued two Holland lops a few months ago and were both fairly scared/shy rabbits. I don’t know their past at all, but what I do know is they HATE being handled. I’ve tried covering the eyes, blankets, holding them tightly so they don’t feel scared. You name it, but they will wiggle out no...

Hello! So next month my boyfriend and I will be traveling from San Diego to Monterey for a road trip and a 6 day stay. I have two Holland lops that id love to bring along, but I know there’s risks in this being I’ve never done this before. This will be about a 7-9 hour drive roughly there and...

Rabbit Bonding - My female is irritated

Hello, I recently adopted two very sweet rabbits; both Holland lops. One male and one female both spayed/neutered. They are currently living separate in large exercise pens (honestly spoil these two with their homes, but they deserve it.) The bonding is going great, but when it’s time for a...

    Homemade Rabbit Treat Recipes?

Does anyone have any healthy homemade rabbit treat recipes? I’m having a hard time finding recipes without carrots and oats which I prefer not to make their treats out of. I’m skeptical about store bought treats because you don’t know what is being put in them. Feel it’s better to know...

    Rabbit Shaking Head During Bonding

Update: She stopped shaking and scratching after her play date. I can tell she is very irritated with me for checking/cleaning her ears though. :( Hopefully she forgives me soon! Haha

    Rabbit Shaking Head During Bonding

Hello! I recently adopted two holland lops from a local shelter. They’ve been bonding great and making so much progress! Today I noticed my female rabbit has been grooming and scratching quite a bit, nothing too alarming. When I put the rabbits together they began to cuddle and act very happy...
