Is this an okay bonding situation?

I was mistaken at first, her pedigree says she was born on March 29. So she is just about 2 months. I will keep them separate until she is ready to be spayed. However, since Moby is free roam and Maby (the new doe) is confined in a pen, I'm slightly worried that he may try to nip her through the...

Is this an okay bonding situation?

That is a good point. But he is actually flopping against the cage, and has been binkying around the room... but it would probably be different if I let her out of the cage. You are right about waiting until she is spayed to actually try bonding them.

Is this an okay bonding situation?

Hello, I brought home a 1 month old Netherland Dwarf doe today. I am hoping to bond her to my 11 month old Netherland Dwarf buck, who is neutered. I have attached pictures of the set up I have right now. I was worried about the bonding process because I do not really have any neutral space to...

    Won't stop tearing up carpet

Hi! I can't get my bun to stop ripping out the carpet. He is a 6 month old, neutered, male netherland dwarf. He is tearing up the carpet CONSTANTLY. It is becoming an enormous source of frustration. The carpet was already in poor shape when I moved in, so I'm not terribly worried about...

    Pellets are soft

This last week he has been getting cilantro and parsely. I usually only get two different greens per week when I go to the store, because anything more than is too much for one bun and goes bad. He usually gets either romaine, kale, cilantro, parsely, or turnip greens. Is it okay to only have...

    Pellets are soft

Hello, I have noticed the last few days that my Netherland Dwarfs poo pellets have been rather squishy. They are not cecotropes. He seems healthy. He is nearly 6 months, his diet is a handful of pellets in the morning, a cup of veggies in the evening, and a constant supply of hay (oat, timothy...

Is two bunnies too much for one bedroom?

It would probably be at least a year away. I live in a house with three other roommates so there is not very much free space, unless I used someone elses room temporarily for neutral territory. My main concern would be having to cage Moby while they adjusted to eachother. He has never been...

Is two bunnies too much for one bedroom?

I am thinking of getting a second bunny. Right now I have one, who has free roam of my bedroom. I am home most of the time and he is very happy and bonded to me. I know that a second bunny could upset this dynamic and cause behavior issues, at least for a while until they adjust. But is the...

    Possible malocclusion?

I captured a cute video of Moby yawning, which gave me a good look at his teeth. Maybe it's just a weird angle, but one of the teeth looks much shorter than the other. Here's the clip: https://imgur.com/a/wrOYD He's a netherland dwarf, which I know are prone to dental issues. Should I be...

Signs that bunnies will get along

Hi, I have some questions about bringing home a second bunny. For a while now I've been searching for a second bunny to be companion to Moby, my 5 month Netherland Dwarf. He was neutered more than 8 weeks ago. My first question is how to tell if Moby likes one bunny more than another? I've...

    Diet should be 80% hay?

Interesting. House Rabbit Society recommends 1 cup of veggies per two pounds of body weight. (Source: http://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/) Can anyone else weigh in on this?

    Bunny keeps licking my covers?

I let my bun in my bed too. There was a week there where he would pee on my bed, almost every night... But he hasn't done it even once after his neuter. Hopefully that remains the case. But I often have clothes on my bed, that sometimes Moby will lick watching me. This is a quote from The...

    Diet should be 80% hay?

I'm not stressing. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep him healthy and happy. He is 2 lbs. And it's more like 1 cup of veggies per day, but sometimes I give him sprigs of cilantro as a treat.

    Diet should be 80% hay?

Hi! I'm having trouble gauging if my bun is eating enough hay to where it consists of 80% of his diet. Right now (4 months old) he gets about 1/4 cup of pellets in the morning and at night, and 1-2 cups of veggies in the evening. He eats hay fairly consistently throughout the day...

    Hello (New Here)

This is too true! I can't tell you how many people are surprised when I tell them that bunnies aren't just "big rats" (as my stepmom would call them), that they each have unique and endearing personalities, that they are intelligent and curious, that they even have a sense of humor.

    Carrots and other treats

Thanks! He definitely loves cilantro, it's the first to go whenever I include it with his veggies dish. Maybe I will leave those out of his veggie dinner and just give them to him as treats instead.

    Carrots and other treats

Hello! I have a question about treats. Are carrots as high in sugar as other fruits, such as grapes or bananas? I'm looking for a 'treat' that I can give to Moby more frequently than fruits, which I understand can cause harm if given too freely. Right now I give him a small piece of...

    Alfalfa Hay for adolescent bun

Hello! How much alfalfa hay I should provide to my 4 month old bun? He has constant access to timothy, oat, and organic meadow hay, all of which he eats. But he definitely favors his alfalfa hay, which I give him in small handfuls at least once a day. I took him to his first vet visit...

    Neutering procedure advice?

Hello! I have just scheduled Moby's neutering appointment, which will take place in two weeks (which might be rescheduled for a later date - I haven't actually checked if his testes have dropped! But he is 3 1/2 months old, so they should have descended by now, right?). What is some...

    Loss of balance/spinning

Any updates on what happened? I don't have advice on how to help, but it definitely sounds like head tilt... The first bun I owned went through a similar experience, where he suddenly developed symptoms akin to head tilt, but then recovered after a few minutes. This happened to him twice more...
